The BBC iPlayer
Published: 2007-12-18
Bowing to pressure from accessibility groups the BBC has launched it's platform independent version of the iPlayer - http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/. The iPlayer uses Abode Flash to allows Mac, Linux and Windows all access to the same content although the download service is still only available for Windows users.
First impression are positive, the sound and visual quality is watchable and the streaming speed is good. Not much else to say at this point but it's release (earlier than scheduled?) is certainly a positive progression in the development of on-demand services.
